Overview
The kingdom of Bhutan is one of the smallest countries in the world with an immense spectacular ecosystem which makes the country as one of the most sought – after biodiversity destinations in the world. Bhutan is located in the heart of eastern Himayalaya and its landscape is extremely varied and influenced by the monsoons. Geographically the country lies in a global ecozone, in between the warm Indo-Malayan ecozone in the south and the temperate Pale arctic ecozone in the north, since the country’s altitude ranges from sub-tropical to alpine. Due to the big variation of the forests and ecoregions, Bhutan has been home for more than 10,000 plant species, 800 birds, and 200 mammal species. The country is identified as one of the biological hot spots in the world by WWF. Bhutan is guided by the visionary conservation policy of His Majesty the Fourth Dragon King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck. Bhutan has more than 72 % of its land under forest cover and more than 51% under protected areas. Therefore, this tour will take you through the real world of natures or the paradise of nature.
